35 shows recording weekly on my tivo

As you will hear in Episode 9, I made a list of all the shows record and it made me very sad to know that the number was 34. As I counted and added a new show that started on Friday, its actually 35. I didn't mention the run down because it would take so much time.

Sunday Night

Amazing Race

Valentine

Desperate Housewives

Brothers and Sisters

Mad Men

Monday Night

Big Bang Theory

How I Met Your Mother

Gossip Girl

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Chuck

One Tree Hill

Heroes

Samatha Who?

Raising the Bar

My Own Worst Enemy

Tuesday Night

90210

House

The Mentalist

Privileged

Fringe

Eli Stone

Law and Order SVU

Wednesday Night

Pushing Daisies

Bones

Private Practice

Lipstick Jungle

Project Runway

Thursday Night

Ugly Betty

Surivor

Grey's Anatomy

Life on Mars

ER

Friday Night

Ghost Whisperer

Ex List

Crusoe

So last night, I cut four shows my tivo. I am not going to watch Ghost Whisperer, The Ex List or Valentine, or Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I really enjoy Sarah Connor but I like the other stuff on Monday nights better. I will catch up via DVDs.

What are you watching? Answer in the comments or send an email to girlsnightinradio@gmail.com. I love to chat TV shows.

I guess I'm just as sad as you, Maggie.
I watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, which both air 4 times a week.
Sundays are Desperate Housewives, Dexter and True Blood, Mondays Chuck, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Heroes, Prison Break, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and CSI Miami. Tuesdays are NCIS, House, Fringe, The Mentalist and Eli Stone. Wednesdays Pushing Daisies, Private Practice, Bones and CSI NY.
Thursdays CSI, Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty, Supernatural and ER.
Fridays are Life, Numb3rs and Ghost Whisperer. I also watch Heroes Unmasked and Stephen Fry in America which air on the BBC.

I don't have time to watch all of these during the week, so I keep the ones I haven't watched and catch up during hiatuses.

Some of these shows are very high on my priority list (like Pushing Daisies, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, CSI,...) These get watched immediately. Others (like Fringe, Ghost Whisperer, ER,...) are very low and often get a backlog and then I watch several episodes in a mini-marathon.

Hmm, I seem to remember being teased for my long list of TV shows... ;-)

I am with you on many of the shows on this list. As a matter of fact, probably the only new show you haven't mentioned is Sanctuary (Sci Fi Channel) starring Amanda Tapping from Stargate SG-1. This show is produced by much of the same staff as the Stargate shows, and was originally launched as a series on the web. I guess the experiment paid off. It's an X FIles-type story of mysterious creatures and a woman who has created a "sanctuary" to protect them (and us). It's not quite as much of an X Files ripoff as Fringe, ;-)

There are a couple of old series I would like to store on my DVR for later viewing (Jake 2.0, for example) but I seem to run out of space and have to delete them. They come back around eventually. I love that the DVR lets me control my viewing schedule, although the side effect is that I have no idea what night some shows are actually on.

The moral of this story is that I don't want to be hassled about my TV viewing on this podcast ever again! ;-)

Winnie and Fred!
My TV watching friends. I heart you both.
Yes Fred, we made fun of your list. I feel bad for hassling you and will never do it again.

Winnie, there are only two shows I watch right away - Project Runway and Amazing Race. Everything else I watch in chronological order cuz I am a dork like that and i don't want to be spoiled on any other shows.
Time to go back to the Amazing Race!

Just listened to this episode of GNI Radio.. I am behind on podcasts after my trip but slowly catching up!

I just counted my TV show list; at the moment it's at 31; this doesn't include shows like Lost, 24 that aren't on air at the moment. Plus new shows that I am interested in that are mid season starters, like Joss Whedon's Dollhouse.

I watch most of those shows you listed; maybe a couple of different ones. I use next-episode.net to keep track of them all, and when they are going to air.

So another TV obssessed person you can add to the list :)

My list also doesn't include shows that aren't on the air at the moment (Doctor Who, Lost, Torchwood, Spooks, Dollhouse, the list goes on and on).
I use myepisdoes.com to keep track, I find it a great help. I can keep track of which episodes I have acquired, which ones I still have to watch, it has a calendar so I can see when shows are going on hiatus and when they are coming back. I don't have to search for each show by itself anymore. I used to put them all in my google calendar, but on some days the list got so long.

So i have cut my tv shows to 20. Not including shows not on right now, Lost, 24, Dollhouse, or Friday Night Lights. Very proud of myself. I am not really missing those 15 shows I cut, not yet. lol.

I am going to have to try those websites out. My tivo isn't working with our new cable so it didn't record a full week of tv shows. its been hard for me, even though i am two weeks behind on tv.
